True Blue

This Wednesday was the annual (or so I think) True Blue event at BYU. Basically I don't know what the point really is, but I'm assuming it's just to show support for our school and maybe our football team. There was a jello eating contest and an ultimate frisbee game. But really the cool part was the blue foam slip 'n' slide. Yes that's right, blue foam. Like neon blue. I went with Shae and then we met up with two guys from our ward, Andy and Adam. We had to wait in line but it was sooo worth it. They had a tarp set up down a hill on Heleman Fields and then a foam hose spraying foam all the way down it. It sounds wierd and not so much fun but it was freaking fabulous. They also had foam pits where they had just sprayed a buttload of foam on the ground but it was kind of gross and muddy. So we avoided that until some guy came back with a foam hose and we just stood in front of the hose and got covered in foam. Then we went home, all foamy and got blue all down the carpet in our dorm hallway and all over the bathroom. Good thing we have amazing cleaning ladies. =]

Football

Well we lost. If you didn't already know. But it was fun. We started out sitting in some random people's seat because all of our seats were pretty sucky. And then like 10 minutes into the game some 100 year old man (I'm not kidding. He had machines hooked up to him. He was old) decided to come find the seats we had stolen from him. So we ended up sitting in the seats I was supposed to be sitting in until part way into the 2nd quarter when my friends decided they didn't want to be there any longer. Well I was not so happy about this plan, especially since I had paid for the ticket with my money and I had taken work off to be there. So luckily I have lots of friends and was able to sit with a good friend from my home stake. After that, things were pretty good minus the fact that Florida kicked our butts. But still, its all what you make of it right? So now, we're off to go celebrate our loss. =] Hopefully BYU picks it up for next time.

80's Dancing!

Wednesday night, (yes it was a school night and yes I did have class at 8 the next morning) I got home from work at 9:45 to find all my friends in their 80's wear. So I of course could not pass up a party and hurried and got all dressed up as well to go to one of the local clubs in the area where, if you hadn't already guessed, it was 80's night. And to make it even better, we got in for free! Unfortunatly there were only like 20 people there. But we danced to all the 80's music for about an hour and then went out for food. It was pretty awesome, especially when two older guys came and started dancing around. I'm fairly positive they were revisiting their past. Maybe my parents should come up and revisit their teenage years as well. =] We were also just happy to have an excuss to dress up, because who doesn't like to dress up in their 80's gear?

Emergency Room Visit

Yes thats right, I already had to go to the emergency room after only 1 week of classes. =[ I won't go into detail about why, because it's rather gross but basically I was just having severe womenly issues. But all is well now and nothing is wrong with me. It was just a very terrifying experience and all I wanted to do was go home so I didn't have to be alone. Thankful I have wonderful family out here and two of my aunts came to the rescue so I wasn't alone.

And on more happier news, I'm not the relief society president! yay!! I haven't escaped a calling all together though. At least not yet. They still have to call sunday school teachers, which I think would be even worse that Relief Society pres. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I am not one of the lucky four who get that calling.

First days of class

So I have successfully finished my first day in all of my classes. I am SO excited for my psychology and sociology class. They are going to be awesome and the teachers are just as cool. I'm pretty much terrified of American Heritage. I'm fairly positive it will be the hardest class I've ever taken but hopefully I can do well. I'm also a little worried about my Book of Mormon class just because I don't really know what to expect. And the teacher didn't really make it clear. I don't think it will be too hard though, as long as I can figure out what he wants on his tests. And then there is my freshman academy class titled "Uncovering the Hidden Costs of Poverty and Illiteracy" and this is going to be an interesting class. I'm excited for the subject matter but the teachers kind of treat us like we're freshman in high school so I'm hoping things get a little less boring. Although I am way excited for a lecture we're attending by Greg Mortensen who wrote Three Cups of Tea. Which if you haven't read, you really should.

And as all of you know, I am very determined not to get married anytime soon. So in order to not have any chance of getting married, I have to avoid those RM's. Well that plan already failed because in my first class of Sociology, guess who sits next to me? A returned missionary. And a pretty attractive one. But that class is pretty large so hopefully ARM (attractive returned missionary) forgets who I am. =]
